Ikebana is more than arranging flowers. It is a practice of focus and intention, a way of finding balance between yourself and the world around you through the medium of flowers.

In Japanese tradition, incense is not smelled but listened to. In this workshop we bring the two practices together. Two natural incenses set the starting point, and each one is paired with its own floral selection. Scent becomes the guide, and your arrangement becomes a visual interpretation of what you sense.
What to expect
  • Core principles of ikebana: line, asymmetry, negative space
  • An introduction to the two pre-selected natural incenses and the character of each
  • You are assigned one incense and its matching floral palette
  • Live demonstration, then hands-on work with personal guidance from Liza
  • The session opens with tea to slow down and reset
  • 2 hours, max 10 participants
  • Only seasonal flowers, carefully selected for you
  • Your flowers wrapped to take home
  • Taught in English
This workshop is for everyone who is curious about floral arranging practice, want to get introduction to Ikebana, begin learning a new craft, create with your hands and feel more present and grounded in a moment. No previous knowledge or experience is required.
